The main perk of this assembly lies in its plasma damage making it much more effective against enemies with high bullet resistance, such as Lost souls and Revenants. It can additionally potentially deal more damage against heavily armored foes thanks to its plasma damage, let pistol users utilize a different ammo type in power cells, and it has the utility of being able to tunnel through walls (provided the players has several cumulative levels of Son of a Gun and Son of a Bitch, or Sharpshooter, otherwise it won't be strong enough to destroy walls without wasting obscene amounts of cells).
Note that while the Blaster can be used for this assembly, it'll have no practical effect as the Blaster already deals plasma damage.
