Resistances are percentage modifiers to damage that only affects a certain type of damage.
Resistances are applied before protection.
Armor resistance only prevents damage from enemy attacks, while boot resistance only applies to hazard tiles (i.e., Acid and Lava). Other items that provide resistance work with with damage from all sources.
Armor resistances are capped at 95%.
Resistances below 0% indicate a weakness, which will increase the damage instead of reducing it.
