In DoomRL, you are given a rather hefty number of options regarding how to play the game. In addition to the various game settings, there is also the matter of how you decide to shape the character itself. There are two major considerations, here:
- Traits determine your character's strengths and any lack thereof. These can be selected at the start of the game, as well as any time you gain enough experience to level up.
- Classes determine the general role of the character you play. These can be selected only at the start of the game and have an effect not only on particular attributes of the character, but the kind of traits you can ultimately choose for said character.
