Effect: A single Sniper mod added to a weapon removes accuracy penalties due to distance. A second Sniper mod added to the same weapon also removes the accuracy penalty against targets outside your vision.
How to get it: Random (10+), Hell's Armory, Deimos Lab
Ingame Description: A high-tech modification for ranged weapons -- implements an advanced auto-hit mechanism.
Comments/special: The Sniper mod can only be applied to ranged weapons. Up to three Sniper mods can added to a ranged weapon, but a third Sniper mod will have no additional effect. It can be applied to shotguns, but it'll have no effect (unless it's for making the Plasmatic shrapnel assembly). The Sniper mod can be added to weapons that exactly target a tile, such as any BFG, or weapons with inherent autohit (i.e. the weapon will already 100% hit any enemy in its targeted path), such as the Tactical rocket launcher, but this too will have no practical effect.
