The Jackal of Hellsing fame is essentially a [[micro launcher]] with a very small blast radius built into a pistol. Against hordes of far-off enemies, it can be a powerful weapon, especially if you have Son of a Gun and/or Son of a Bitch at high levels. That being said, careless use of the Jackal can destroy items and explode barrels, so you may want to keep a backup pistol handy. Although the Jackal's blast radius is modest compared to other things that go boom, it's still not a good idea to point-blank enemies using this weapon.
